The Electronic Intifada Podcast 19 September 2019
On Episode 9, Nora and Asa talk to As’ad AbuKhalil, legendary commentator on Middle East politics and the media.
He analyzes Israel’s election and prospects for justice for Palestinians.
We discuss what’s behind Israel’s recent attacks against Lebanon, Syria and Iraq.
We also talk about the solidification of the US-Israel-Saudi alliance, Saudi-Qatari sectarian agitation and the ongoing war on Yemen.
As’ad AbuKhalil is a professor of political science at California State University Stanislaus and writes a column called “The Angry Arab” for Consortium News.
Commenting on this week’s Israeli elections, As’ad told us that “The political spectrum of Israel has gone so far to the fascist right that this is basically a contest between racist, fascist right and a milder form of the racist, fascist right. There is no left in Israel.”
You can follow As’ad on Twitter, read his column on Consortium News and read his late lamented blog The Angry Arab News Service.
Plus, Asa gives us an update on the Labour Party’s revocation of his conference press pass.
Articles we discussed
